Is there a shop like this in the States? The closest thing in LA was the Penthouse store – trying to be normal with a café – though in fairness it did look like a very nice, bright, clean café – the kind of place you'd probably find a really good latte and muffin in the morning. I think there's one like it in London – I think I remember a vague ad in British Vogue. And what does this have to do with food? We discovered it was right around the corner from Poilane – on the other end of our very own street – rue de Grenelle – a stylish women's erotica shop. I'd read about it when it opened - it was opened by Sonia Rykiel's daughter. She was just leaving the shop when we arrived. Signs say no men or children allowed – but there was a guy in there with a girl – no kids in sight. But apparently they had no problems with dogs walking around off-leash. Not even downstairs in the toy area. Amazing technology! Some things I had no idea what or where they were for. Personally I think a high-end patisserie paired with an elegant erotica shop would be a good match – forget about coffee – give women Pierre Herme or Laduree chocolate macarons – that will get them in orgasmic moods.
